PCH Engineering External Bidirectional Low Frequency Accelerometer CHB 1101

The CHB 1101 transmitter is an external bi-directional low frequency accelerometer for use with the PCH 1026 mk2 wind turbine and structural vibration monitor.

The external bi-directional accelerometer is used for advanced nacelle monitoring with distributed pick-up points.

Separate cables with integrated D-Sub and M12 connectors make installation and connection of the vibration monitor very simple.

Easy to install

The CHB 1101 has an internal memory chip which stores factory information: serial number, model number, sensitivity and self-test parameters.

When the CHB 1101 is connected, the monitor reads the information in the memory chip and automatically adapts to the settings of the particular sensor.

This means that the accelerometer can be freely replaced without having to manually change the parameters.

The monitor reads the chip every 30 seconds to verify that the accelerometer is still connected and recognised.

The monitor will stabilise for 20 seconds after power is applied.

The stabilisation time after disconnecting/connecting the CHB 1101 is 3 www.abb-drive.com seconds. During settling, the PCH 1026 Mk2 will perform a self-test of the internal and external accelerometers.

Self-Test

The monitor will issue a system error message if the self-test fails or the accelerometer is disconnected.

Accelerometers must be specified in the PCH 1026 Vibration Monitor setup to use this feature.

The CHB 1101 accelerometer is an optional feature of the PCH 1026 Mk2 Wind Turbine and Structural Vibration Monitor.

Configuration

The PCH 1026 is a self-contained monitor in a sealed, rugged case. It requires only DC power and the required output connections to operate.

Required. The PCH 1026 is designed for low frequency monitoring applications.

Built-in vibration sensors in 3 directions: Built-in vibration sensors in 3 directions: X, Y and Z.

Includes test functions for all sensors and electronic circuits, as well as an internal watchdog for continuous self-monitoring functions.

The design of the PCH 1026 is based on a digital platform that provides customers with a wide range of solutions and allows for quick configuration and setup changes in the field.

Signal Conditioning

All signal conditioning is performed digitally.

This means that settings and configurations can be changed and verified via the included PC software programme (CHT1012).

Digital signal processing is performed by state-of-the-art DSP technology, ensuring accurate and efficient monitoring.

Selective monitoring of frequencies or bands of interest can be achieved by choosing from a variety of high and low pass filters. Simply select from which frequency to monitor.

The PCH 1026 has a wide range of filters that have been proven over many years of industry experience.

Alarm and System Fault Relays

Alarm Relays:

The PCH 1026 provides 4 independent alarm relays with programmable “on” or “off” functions.

All 4 relays can be assigned to the desired frequency or measurement direction.

For example one relay is responsible for the desired frequency, or the same relay can be responsible for up to 4 different frequencies.

Alarm threshold levels, delay times, latching or non-latching functions can be set independently for each relay using the supplied PC software.

System Failure Relay:

The PCH 1026 provides system fault relays with disconnects for optimum fail-safe configurations.

Configuration. A fault detected by the PCH 1026’s internal watchdog will trigger the system fault relay in either test mode or monitor mode.

The system fault relay responds to the following conditions: power failure, overload, processor stop, sensor failure.
