Microprocessor – The VMIVME-7695 brings the Intel® Pentium II processor with MMX™ to the VME bus, providing a processor speed of 333 MHz.

The Pentium II processor has 32-bit addressing and a 64-bit data bus. Its superscalar architecture allows three instructions per clock cycle.

Dynamic branch prediction units, separate instruction and data caches, and MMX technology also enhance the performance of the Pentium II processor.

The Pentium II processor also features a dual independent bus architecture providing 512 Kbytes of internal L2 cache for high bandwidth and performance.

Memory – The VMIVME-7695 offers up to 512 Mbytes of system memory options with up to three SODIMMs installed.

The on-board DRAM is dual-ported to the VME bus.

DiskOnChip – The VMIVME-7695 offers the option of accessing 72. 144. or 288 Mbytes of memory via M-Systems’ DiskOnChip.

This memory can be used as boot flash or as an additional standard drive installed by the BIOS. No additional software is required.

The DiskOnChip can be used as the only drive in the system or as a second drive, e.g. with the VMIVME-7455 CD-ROM drive.

Ethernet Controller – The VMIVME-7695 supports Ethernet LANs through the Intel 21143 Ethernet Controller.

10BaseT and 100BaseTX transmission is supported and the interface can be accessed through the RJ45 connector on the front panel. The VMIVME-7695 includes a Lanworks Technologies, Inc.

The VMIVME-7695 includes Lanworks Technologies, Inc.’s Remote Boot BIOS, which allows users to remotely boot a variety of operating systems using the Ethernet interface.Lanworks Technologies, Inc.’s BIOS provides the following features:

– Support for RPL, TCP/IP BootP, TCP/IP DACP, NetWare 802.3. NetWare 802.2. and NetWare EthII protocols

– Unrivaled boot sector virus protection

– Detailed boot configuration screens

– Comprehensive diagnostic capabilities

– Option to disable local boot function

– Dual-boot option allows user to select network or local startup
