Quickly Connect Rockwell SLC 500 Systems to PROFIBUS Networks and Maximise Network Flexibility with SST™ Communication Modules

The SST™ Communication Module connects Rockwell SLC 500 PLCs as a master or slave to scan or emulate PROFIBUS DP I/O.

With a user-defined data space of 2064 bytes of input and 2064 bytes of output, the SST™ Profibus Module provides the ability to connect SLC CPUs to large PROFIBUS networks.

A 9-pin serial port on the scanner can be used for field firmware upgrades and I/O configuration uploads.

SLC processor logic scanning and PROFIBUS I/O scanning are independent of each other. the SLC processor www.abb-drive.com reads the scanner’s input data during input scanning and writes the output data during output scanning.

The SLC processor reads input data from the scanner during input scanning and writes output data during output scanning. The scanner reads input data from the slaves and writes output data to the slaves independent of the operation of the SLC.

Slave status, diagnostic status information for all slaves, network diagnostic counters and DP master diagnostic counters are maintained by the scanner.

A G-file is required in the SLC.
